The Tasting Room @ Cornerstone Place Cornerstone Place in Sonoma is a premier wine country destination featuring art gardens and an eclectic collection of shops and wine tasting rooms. It's marked by an ever-changing series of walk-through gardens that showcase new and innovative designs from some of the world's finest landscape architects and designers. The first of its kind in North America, the inventive gardens promise visitors a rush of the imagination. It's the perfect context for a unique winery like Roshambo and in the fall of 2007, we opened a tasting room at Cornerstone Place.
In keeping with our offbeat aesthetic, the new space has a retro-industrial feel, with slate gray walls, towering custom birdcages for merchandise, and a gang of vintage school lockers. The dark stained concrete floor is scattered with inflatable globes and gnomes and in the center of it all, is a tabletop Ms. Pacman arcade game. Our goal was to create a strikingly original atmosphere in which to encounter wine, and according to The San Francisco Chronicle, we achieved our goal: "If it weren't for the flights of wine being poured at the counter, you might not remember that this is Wine Country."
